What is Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT)?
MAT stands for medication for addiction treatment. It pairs FDA-approved medications with counseling and support to reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms. For many people, it’s what makes recovery feel manageable for the first time. Medication isn’t the whole plan. It’s just what makes the rest of the plan possible.
Can I receive addiction medication through virtual care?
Yes. If medication is clinically appropriate for you, your provider can prescribe it through a virtual visit. Your prescription goes to your pharmacy. You don’t have to go anywhere.
Is Suboxone available as part of treatment?

Do I have to be abstinent to start treatment?

How quickly can I get an appointment?
Most people are seen within about two days. Same-day and next-day appointments are sometimes available. We know that when you’re ready to start, waiting a week isn’t the answer.
What happens during the first appointment?
You’ll meet with a medical provider for about 30 to 40 minutes. You’ll talk through your history, what’s going on right now, and what you want out of treatment. By the end of the appointment, you’ll have a plan and not just a follow-up.
What is peer support and how does it help?
Peer support means working with someone who’s been through it themselves. They’re trained, they’re part of your care team, and they bring something a clinician can’t always offer, which is the experience of having been in a similar place.
